creating a meal

"If you are lucky enough to have lived in Paris as a young man, then wherever you go for the rest of your life, it stays with you, for Paris is a moveable feast." --Ernest Hemingway to a friend, 1950

While in Paris I not only enjoyed reading Hemingway's, A Moveable Feast, I also enjoyed creating one of my own. Strolling through the neighborhood and selecting ingredients one by one was both a sensual and satisfying endeavor. (It comes in sharp contrast to visiting the Seattle Safeway!) Rue Cler offers anything a girl could want to create a luscious meal, including world famous Berthillon ice cream. It really may be the best in the world! Bon Appetit!!

Well, the what more I could want today has been a nice healthy breakfast, 2 poached eggs/english muffin, oj.
Lunch - a fresh, delightful green salad with a Diet Pepsi (I much prefer Diet Coke), with a new friend.
Home to bake cookies for a family dinner event - event cancelled, I wolfed down about 6 chocolate chip cookies -
Now for dinner, my hubby has fixed a lovely martini with Maui goat cheese, just arrived as a gift to him-late birthday......uh, maybe not quite as delectable as Paris:)?
We may begin to get boring - you Paris, me Maui.....don't worry, I adore your pictures and stories and am prepared to hear them for a loooonnnngggg time:)) (That means you'll have to continue to see those interminably boring surfing photos:)

"There is never any ending to Paris and the memory of each person who has lived in it differs from that of any other. We always returned to it no matter who we were or how it was changed or with what difficulties or ease it could be reached. Paris was always worth it and you received return for whatever you brought to it."
--Ernest Hemingway, A Moveable Feast
